Well, this little guy has been neglected for quite a while. :( We didn't really have a use for him. We basically crammed him anywhere. On top of the the water heater, under the kitchen sink, in the back of the closet, on top of the fridge. Any spot we could find that we didn't use on an everyday basis. I don't really know anything about this tray. It was my Mom's, but it doesn't hold any sentimental value. It was probably a wedding gift or something.
In my effort to do a purge of my life we've been going through closets and cleaning drawers, cabinets, and every nook and crannie. We're just getting rid of the clutter. It feels soooo good. :) It brought out this little guy again. Thankfully, I've been reading decorating blogs lately. I stumbled across THIS BLOG and saw her cute silver trays. I totally wanted to steal, er umm, borrow this idea. I got to work trying to get this little guy cleaned. I probably should have bought some silver cleaner, but this thing has been tarnished and abused for so long, I didn't want to spend any money on the only piece of silver I had for it not to come clean. I just used good old baking soda and some elbow grease. It came fairly clean after the first bath.

I cleaned it one more time and painted the inside with the chalkboard paint. I pulled out my chalk and tried several different words. Then I settled on this one for now. The greatest thing is when I'm ready to change it, I just wipe it off and write something else. SWEET! :)
Here is the final product. :) It's sitting on Doug's chest of drawers. It's so sweet sitting there. I want to paint the little holder thingy black I think. I'm not sure yet. lol I'm new to this whole decorating/crafty stuff like this. hee hee

Looks completely different, huh?
I LOVE IT! :)
